So, you're planning your wedding! Congratulations!! Maybe you've been envisioning your wedding day, right down to the smallest detail, from childhood. Maybe, you haven't given your wedding day much thought at all and will just roll with the punches now that it's official. Either way, as a bride or groom planning your wedding, one thing that you should be, is prepared with the facts.

Many brides and grooms do not understand the importance of a great photographer. Someone who fits your style, that you get along with and who will listen to your needs so that they can make sure that their executed vision is in alignment with yours. Instead, they may go with the most cost effective option, and while that can sometimes work, oftentimes it does not. Memories get missed, shots of certain family members get overlooked or details are not appreciated. Maybe the edited photos that you receive are not up to par, or...the pictures are just terrible. *insert sad face here*

New York Magazine surveyed 100 brides on what they would have done differently when it came to their wedding preparations. Here's what they had to say:

There you have it. 21% of brides say that they would have budgeted more funds for wedding day photography. That's higher than any other single category, with the exception of "Everything Else". Don't set yourself up for disappointment. Make sure that you invest in your photographer, because at the end of the day, when everyone has gone and the dress is off, all you'll have left of your special day, the day that you worked so hard to create, are your memories and your photos.
